Has anyone here studied both the bible and mythologies? Have you seen the similarities between stories in the Bible and the myths and legends of ancient civilizations.
Think about the disciples James and John for example, then think about the Gemini Twins.
The Twins, Castor and Pollux were often called Sons of Zeus…“the Thunderer”. In Mark 3:17 Jesus calls James and John Boanerges “Sons of Thunder”. Also, the Gemini Twins were known to call fire down from the sky and in Greek myth they destroyed entire villages with that power. In Luke 9:54 when Jesus is refused entry into a Samaritan village, James and John ask, “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven and destroy them?” Even on ancient coins and gems, the Twins are always depicted positioned on either side of enthroned deities, most often Zeus and Mithras. In Mark 10:35-40, James and John request to sit on the right and left of their Lord on the heavenly throne.
